About Me

My name is Armando, and I’m a guy just like John Q. Public trying to make sense of life and establish myself here in New York City, the city that never sleeps.

Living in New York for nearly 30 years has taught me quite a few things. One, this town is a place where you REALLY can find anything in the world. With that said, it’s very understandable how people who have been born and raised here (like me) can be spoiled by this great city and never come out of their comfort zone by leaving this place for extended periods of time. Second, with everyone trying to make it here, there’s (seemingly) no time do anything but to try and make it. That doesn’t provide much time to do much of anything else. After a while being a working stiff, I figured that there had to be a better way, so I started to focus on traveling the world in an attempt to change up a life that has gotten too monotonous without realizing it. I was definitely unprepared for what would follow.

Within 3 years, I traveled to over 10 countries and I started to find a new passion as a result: traveling. Now that I’ve just started to travel, I want to go further into it. At the same time, I still want to develop my life here in New York City and maybe see if I can bring those same experiences that I have traveling abroad back with me to New York. It’s a cultural experiment that’s perfect for the melting pot that is the Big Apple.

Join me as I document my travel chronicles and photos, and show some hidden New York City gems for the experienced and wanna-be traveler alike. I’ll even share some confessions on how I manage to travel like a rockstar without being paid like one, and some adventures I encounter along the way.
